Chevrolet: Who’s quoting what
We’ve heard that one of the things agents struggle with is knowing what makes and models work best for a specialty policy through Hagerty. The Cars You Should Know list isn’t just a compilation of the cars we think are cool, it’s the cars we see come across our book of business most often (that also happen to be very cool, of course). The quote trends* below help show the growing popularity of this month’s models. If you know what’s trending, you’ll know what to look for in your own book of business.
Corvette | The Chevy Corvette topped our quote list in 2024. With over 80,000 quotes, it edged out the Ford Mustang as our #1 most-quoted vehicle. Hagerty members have long loved a Corvette, but the increase in ownership for Gen X and younger is up 11% since 2019. Keep your eye out for younger enthusiasts—they just might be the perfect fit for a specialty policy from Hagerty.
Chevelle | Chevelles have long been in our book of business and based on the 17K+ quotes in 2024, we'd say that's not likely to change any time soon. It ranked number seven in our quote list last year, but most interestingly: more than half (nearly 62%) of the owners of Chevelles are Gen X or younger.
Pickups | Trucks are having a moment and that’s certainly evident when you look at Hagerty quotes. The C/K series were in our top five most quoted vehicles for 2024. And if you see vintage pickups and only think of older enthusiasts, think again. A whopping 75% of the owners of the C/K series who quoted in 2024 fell into Gen X or younger (which is above average for all enthusiast vehicles and most vintage trucks, too).
Camaro | The Camaro remains a Hagerty favorite, coming in fourth place for most popular vehicle by quote count. And the popularity just keeps growing: quotes for Chevrolet’s pony car are up 17% since 2019. The first and second generation of Camaros (1967-1969 and 1970-1982) are the most popular for both Gen X (1964-1981) and Millennial (1982-1996) enthusiasts. Among Gen Xers, nearly 40% of their quotes are for the first-generation Camaro.
As we’ve known for a couple years now, the ownership of classic and collector cars is starting to shift, gaining more popularity in the younger generations. Keeping a close eye on who’s quoting what can help you understand who and what to look for in your own book of business.
